Call rates Drop to 5

Indicating the comfortable liquidity position in the banking sector, inter-bank call money rates ended lower at 5.00 per cent on the overnight money market here.

Indicating the comfortable liquidity position in the banking sector, inter-bank call money rates ended lower at 5.00 per cent on the overnight money market here. The fall is mainly due to surplus cash available in the banking system following various measures taken by the Reserve Bank of India RBI. Call rates were 6.10/6.15 per cent on Friday and 6.10/6.20 per cent in an illiquid market on Saturday.
