Burns trying to push India to resolve N-differences

US said it remains 'involved' in the Indo-US N-deal issue and wants India to reconcile differences so that it can move forward.

The United States on Monday said it remains 8220;involved8221; in the issue of Indo-US civilian nuclear accord and senior administration official Nicholas Burns has been trying to 8220;push8221; India to reconcile differences so that the deal can move forward.

At the White House, Press Secretary Dana Perino was asked if US President George W Bush is in touch with anybody in India or has been briefed on the issue.

8220;Well, we certainly have been involved,8221; she said.

8220;Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs Burns has certainly been trying to push India to try to reconcile their differences so that we can move forward. We think it8217;s a very important programme,8221; Perino said.
