I feel like Cleopatra, queen of the Nile. At least for all of today I do. Rejuvenated, refreshed and ready to conquer hearts and the world too. No! I8217;m not in Egypt, but in Australia 8212; the most magnificent and exuberant country brimming over with nature8217;s bounties of every kind. Right now, I am in sylvan glades and sheltered nooks of quiet repose, in spa country. Here mineral water bubbles through the earth, and since the early 19th century, Daylesford has been working little miracles. Even big ones. Like making me feel like Cleopatra.
It8217;s hard to believe that it is just an hour8217;s drive from Marvellous Melbourne. Once in Daylesford, you can choose from a whole range of spas and treatments. Along with it you can also have a gourmet holiday, Match local produce with wine, local free-range duck with the Pinot Noir. You can choose to stay in a secluded self-contained cottage, a bed and breakfast place, a country mansion, a suite in a winery and maybe even a heritage luxury small hotel. In these historic country villages, the gold rush was the last time anyone rushed anywhere. Now, restaurateurs, accommodation hosts, produce growers, spas, all perfectly understand the art of pure indulgence. And that8217;s what I am focusing on.
It nourishes the skin by softening and moisturising it, removes dead skin, relaxes the muscles and gives a glow to the body.
I insist on knowing how one can do this at home. Here8217;s how:
To 180 litres of warm water a little less than a tub full add 5 litres of milk. You may add some aromatherapy oil, make sure the water is warm and soak and enjoy!
I don8217;t know about you, but my Mumbai apartment, does not have a tub, so there8217;s no way that I can repeat the experience. Unless of course, I go back to Australia, which, come to think of it, is what I am planning to do in any case. I8217;m off on the most fabulous 10-day long 8216;8216;Tasting Australia8217;8217; trip, not just to satiate my appetite for knowledge and food and wine but also to relax myself and come back rejuvenated. Like Cleopatra.
