Arunachal Pradesh has sought a clearcut framework with detailed guidelines on how the state will be benefitted from the proposed Northeast Water Resources Authorities NEWRA when a high-level delegation of the Central Water Commission CWC and Brahmaputra Board BB called on Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu.

The state Government is not against it, but we would like to know how we are going to benefit from it. Khandu told BB Chairman T G Antony Balan and other officials when they called on him on Wednesday.

Khandu said that the guidelines, its framework and concept should be made crystal clear before deciding on the interest of the state. Water Resources Minister Tako Dabi said the Brahmaputra Board was functioning contrary to its objectives. It is not serving the whole of Northeast, as it did not take up a single project in Arunachal.
