CHANDIGARH, Feb 18: Bank of India, Chandigarh moved into the semifinals of the third Garhshankar Overseas Cup cricket tournament being played at Garhshankar near here. They beat GSR Friends Club by five wickets in the quarterfinal match today.
After restricting GSR Friends Club to 116, the bank team raced to the target losing only five wickets.
Earlier, BOI got past Balmiki Club, Garhshankar by 70 runs in the pre-quarter final tie yesterday.
Scores: GSR: 116 Raj Kumar 3-17, Vipul Sharma 3-24 lost to BOI: 117 for 5 Kulwinder Khanda 25 n.o., Anurag 20, Akash 15; Bony 3-19.
BOI: 172 for 4 Munish Sharma 72, Davinder Mattoo 38, Raj Kumar 32; Surinder Sharma 2-17 beat Balmiki Club: 102 for 7 Mandeep 43; Vijay Gatta 2-14, Vipul Sharma 3-14.
