Hundreds of agitated people gheraoed the Katargam police station till late in the night, demanding the suspension of Katargam PI P P Pradhan.

But matters took a turn for the worse after the Border Security Force BSF jawans were asked to 8220;take care of the mob8221; by their officer. There was even a slight stampede near the police station after the BSF personnel pointed their guns at the mob.

The mob then gheraoed a van carrying people on poll duty and refused to let it pass till the police intervened yet again.
