JAMSHEDPUR, JUNE 10: Singhbhum BJP MP, Laxman Gilua who surrendered before the sub divisional judicial magistrate of West Singhbhum yesterday was remanded to two weeks judicial custody in connection for the gunning down of former MP Vijay Singh Soy.

Earlier, the Ranchi Bench of Patna High Court rejected Gilua’s anticipatory bail petition and directed him to surrender before the court of SDJM. Gilua surrendered before the SDJM. While rejecting his bail petition the judge remanded him to two weeks judicial custody.

The former Congress MP Soy was assassinated on April 10 last following which the victim’s nephew, Lakhan Soy in an FIR accused Gilua, BJP MLA of Ichagarh, Arvind Kumar Singh, RJD West Singhbhum president, Mithilesh Thakur alias Munnu Thakur and eight others for conspiring to kill Soy.

Altogether six persons have been arrested in this connection, police sources said.
