Is there any connection between the Pakistan intelligence agency ISI and the multi-crore fake stamp paper racket, which shook the country8217;s economy?
Though various agencies probing the racket are yet to say anything on it, the BJP is out with its judgment. It says prime accused Abdul Kareem Lala Telgi was trained by ISI and had connections with Pakistan-based underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.
The BJP state unit has taken the Internet route while campaigning through its newly-launched website http://www.bjpkarnataka.org. The BJP is attacking the state8217;s Congress government on issues like the stamp scam and and farmers suicides.
One section, 8216;Stamp Paper Racket8217;, provides scam details to browsers. 8216;8216;Dawood Ibrahim, the underworld criminal connected with the Mumbai serial bomb blasts, is the originator of the fake stamp paper scam. The Pakistani spy organisation, ISI, supports this,8217;8217; the site reads.
The site also has the full text of the report of the polygraph test conducted on accused Wazir Saliq. It gives full credit to the party leaders for exposing the alleged nexus between the scam and Congress leaders in the state.
The site has also given importance to highlight the government8217;s failure to take steps to check farmers8217; suicides in the state due to three consecutive droughts.
It has details on the Vajpayee Government8217;s achievements, list of the party8217;s national council members, state office-bearers and state election committee members. The site, on its home page, has a photo of BJP state chief Ananth Kumar and B.S.Yediyurappa welcoming former Chief Secretary A.Ravindra to the party fold.
However, some sections, like BJP Samachar, Links, Press Releases and others are still 8216;8216;under construction8217;8217; and more revelations can be expected.
