BJP cannot justify stand on US Nagar

Other political leaders like Mamta Banerji, Mayawati, Mulayam Singh Yadav also supported the SAD stand, he claimed though the Congress was vacillating. In reply to another question, Tohra said that SGPC acting president Sukhdev Singh Bhaur and Akali minister Sucha Singh Langal, seem to have been misquoted on the issue of partaking of langar in foreign gurdwaras, though he said Bhai Ranjit Singh, jathedar of Akal Takht had sought an explanation from them.

Tohra endorsed the Punjab government8217;s decision on raising power tariff saying the government needed funds for development works. But at the same time he said the tariff should not have been raised in one go up to 33 per cent. He also recommended that if possible, the government must give some relief to the consumers.
