BJP attacks Sonia146;s stand on anti-conversion law

BJP parliamentary party spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra said the letter from Sonia to the All India Christian Council that the Congress had opposed anti-conversion legislations was a manifestation of an 8216;8216;anti-Hindu mindset8217;8217;. He said, 8216;8216;This shows she is encouraging missionaries engaged in conversions to Christianity.8217;8217; Malhotra contended that Madhya Pradesh had enacted a similar legislation over five decades ago when Jawaharlal Nehru was at the helm of affairs.

8216;8216;Orissa too enacted such a law when the Congress was in power there,8217;8217; he said. When asked if the BJP had lost interest in the Pathak Authority report, Malhotra said, 8216;8216;We are preparing a battery of speakers to put forth our viewpoint on the issue.8221;

He said the BJP will raise its voice over the Bofors issue in the light of remarks made by former central minister Arun Singh that the deal did involve kickbacks.
