MUMBAI: Capt C P Krishnan Nair, chairman, Leela group has been awarded Global 500 roll of Honour award by the United Nations Environment Programme UNEP. The prestigious UNEP award, the highest given to supporters of the environment movement, was conferred on Nair for his personal contribution to greening parts of suburban Mumbai at a glittering ceremony held in Tokyo, Japan.
Gold declines sharply by Rs 60
MUMBAI: Gold prices fell further sharply by Rs 60 per ten gm on the bullion market Thursday due to heavy offerings in the global market. However, silver rose sharply on poor supply coupled with good industrial demand. Standard gold declined by Rs 60 to Rs 4050 from Rs 4110. 22-carat gold was quoted Rs 55 lower at Rs 3745 from Rs 3800 and ten-tola gold bar .999 purity declined to Rs 47,500 from Rs 48,200. On the other hand, ready silver .999 fineness fell by Rs 75 to Rs 7735 from Rs 7660. Raw silver .916 fineness rallied by Rs 85 to Rs 7595 from Rs7510 and tenderable silver shot up to Rs 7740 from Rs 7665.
