1:1 bonus from Infosys

MUMBAI: Infosys Technologies Ltd has announced a bonus issue of shares in the ratio of 1:1. The company has convened an extraordinary general meeting of its members on January 20 to seek approval for the purpose. 8220;Capital restructuring is a continuous process at Infosys and the bonus issue is proposed to align the equity capital in line with the capital employed in the business. The paid up share capital of the company would increase from Rs 16.02 crore to Rs 32.03 crore, consequent to the bonus issue,8221; said Infosys chairman and managing director N R Narayana Murthy.

PWC to work on software for MSEB

MUMBAI: The Maharashtra State Electricity Board MSEB has hired the international auditing and consultancy firm Price Waterhouse Coopers to develop its information-technology systems. The project, which was needed primarily to make MSEB8217;s existing system Y2K-compliant, will also improve the billing cycle time. The board plans to invest Rs 40 crore in the project, and expects to break even in two years. This also includes expenses on hardware and training. The project is being carried out in coordination with Oracle Software India.
