MUMBAI: THE entire debt dealing team of GIO Sanmar has moved to SREI International Securities Ltd. A Y Dixit will be heading the operations in Mumbai. Dixit has spent nearly 30 years at Bank of India specialising in dealing in debt instruments and foreign exchange, among other areas. Three other members of the team moved along with Dixit from GIO Sanmar to SREI Intnl. This team will specialise in wholesale debt market.

MUMBAI: Lintas India has expanded its client base with the acquisition of a host of new accounts this year. The gain that Lintas has made during the year include not only additional brands from existing clients but also brands from new client sign-ups. This has enabled Lintas to cross the Rs 100 crore mark for new business gains during the year. The latest in line is the French multinational Alcatel which has signed up Lintas to handle its range of cellphones in India.Amongst the prominent clients to be signed on by the agency include AT&T, Kuoni Travels, Nestle, Alcatel, Usha International, All Out mosquito repellent, Amrutanjan, Equal sweetner, Bank of India, Bharat Petroleum and BSL Suitings.

MUMBAI: Kotak Mahindra Finance Ltd’s (KMFL) second quarter profit after tax (PAT) has gone up to Rs 3.04 crore in 1999 from 2.05crore in 1998. This has helped it to maintain the net profit for the half year ended September 1999 at Rs 7.15 crore (previous year Rs 7.06 crore). The uptrend, after successive periods of declining profitability, is largely due to KMFL’s conscious decision to reduce asset size over the last two years.
