December 6:Central Railway and BHA Colts, Mumbai won their inaugural matches in the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial All-India Hockey Tournament, which got under way at Chhatrapati Shivaji Stadium at Kolhapur today. In the opening encounter Central Railway defeated Kolhapur A8217; 3-1, while BHA Colts trounced Sangli 15-0.
Defending champions Tata Sports, Mahindra and Mahindra, Bombay Juniors, Maharashtra Police, Air-India, Fertilizer Corporation of India Delhi, Pioneer Tamil Nadu, Indian Bank Chennai, South Central Railway, ASC Jalandhar, SAI Bangalore and Punjab Police are among the formidable teams competing in the nine-day tourney.
