VADODARA, Feb 7: Social worker and director of the Yogini Vasantdevi Arogya Mandir, Dr Geeta Shah, was honoured by State Health Minister Ashok Bhatt at a special function here recently for her getting the Champaben Gondhia Nari Sanman.

According to a Trust press note released on Sunday the function was organised to honour Dr Shah for bagging the award. Gujarat Stree Kelavani Mandal chairperson Vasuben was the chief guest on the occasion.

Dr Shah announced that she would donate the award money of Rs 1 lakh as well as Rs 4,11,111 which had been given to her by the Nagarik Sanman Samiti to set up an endoscopy unit at the hospital.

Lauding the health facilities extended by the hospital, specially ones through its eye unit, Bhatt said that appreciation for the same came from abroad too. Bhupendra Lakhawala, MLA, also spoke on the occasion.
