
Mumbai, Nov 29: Tata Sports Club and Sun-Grace Mafatlal did not have to wait for the third day to enter the final of the Times Shield A8217; Division cricket tournament. Indian Oil accepted defeat at lunch on the second day itself in their match against Tatas at the Elf-Vengsarkar Academy, while Air-India conceded theirs at Police Gymkhana against SunGrace at draw of stumps.
Chasing Indian Oil8217;s 142, Tatas reached 215 for six by lunch. At Police Gymkhana, last year8217;s runners up SunGrace piled up 323 for eight before A-I threw in the towel.
Resuming at 88 for 4, Tatas flourished courtesy fifth wicket pair of captain Lalchand Rajput and left-hander Nishit Shetty 44, who added 94. Rajput remained unbeaten on 85 151b, 14215;4, 2215;6.
Air-India, resuming at 252 for six, were bowled out for 275. Medium pacer Omkar Salvi was the wrecker-in-chief with seven for 62 in 23.1 overs.
Sun-Grace were tottering at 53 for 4, before the fifth wicket pair of Shantanu Sugvekar 96: 169b, 6215;4, 4215;6 and southpaw Atul Bedade126: 102b, 12215;4, 8215;6 performed the repair job. Both batted freely to add 189 runs.
