Bank clerk suspended for cheating

KHARAR, May 5: An employee of the branch of the State Bank of Patiala at Kurali was suspended for cheating customers of the bank of Rs 8 lakh.

According to reports, Kasturi Lal, clerk-cum-cashier, used to make the entries of cash in the pass books of the some bank customers, but the same were not entered in the account books of the bank.The bank officials came to know about the fraud when a bank customer, who was allegedly defrauded by the concerned bank employee, presented a cheque to withdraw some cash from his account in the month of March this year. The cheque was reported to be dishonoured as there was not enough money in the bank.
