CHANDIGARH, May 12: The Bharatiya Balmiki Dharam Samaj took out a rally today in protest against quot;objectionable scenes and dialoguesquot; in teleserial quot;Jai Hanumanquot;. The rally that started from Sector 24 passed through various sectors before culminating in Sector 17. The rallyists also burnt the effigy of Sanjay Khan, who is directing the serial. President of the Samaj, Om Pal Singh said that the serial should be immediately banned. He said that they had sent a representation to Punjab Governor B.K.N. Chhibber to this effect.

He added that certain scenes shown in May 5 episode on Doordarshan were an attempt to damage the stature of Lord Balmiki.
