Bagan to try out players

CALCUTTA, June 4: Mohun Bagan will try out some of their new recruits when they take on Mohameddan Sporting in the McDowell Cup football tournament opener at the Salt Lake Stadium tomorrow. With coach Amal Dutta back at the helm, Bagan, the National League champions, have a fairly good side this time. IM Vijayan and Jo Paul Ancheri have joined the team and will surely play at least a few games in the course of the tournament.

Bagan have a few more players to test during the McDowell Cup, the curtain-raiser event in Calcutta8217;s football season. Jeevan Moras, who moved from Air-India, Iraqis- Samir Abbas and Yonnan Basim too will have to prove to Dutta that they are good enough to make the team. Bagan this time, have a number of stars in their ranks, a few of whom will have to struggle to find a berth in the side.
