After deciding to scrap the bid process for the modernisation of the New Delhi railway station, the Railways Ministry first said the new bidding process would be stretched till August 2009. But after the new schedule had been announced, someone in the ministry realised such a long bidding process would mean that the actual work wouldn8217;t begin during Lalu Prasad Yadav8217;s tenure. Within two days, the ministry came out with a revised schedule, advancing the date of opening the bids from June 30 to March 3 next year. Later, officials were heard justifying that this did not mean Laluji will not become Railway Minister again.
