Southpaw Raman went down 21-18 21-15 to Peter Fazekas of Hungary. He got a walkover from Ngoma Ngoma of Congo and rallied well to defeat Euan Walker of Scotland 21-23 21-18 21-11, but failed to make it.
Easy for nan: In the women’s event China’s best hope Wang Nan silenced the Dutch crowd by putting homegrown qualifier Melissa Muller firmly in her place to set up a third round clash with Sweden’s Asa Svensson.
