PANCHKULA, June 8: The Panchkula police is launching an awareness drive from June 11 in a bid to educate the public about traffic rules.
This was stated by Superintendent of Police Alok Mittal here today. A decision to this effect was taken after a seminar was held in which Chief Traffic Warden Amar Manchanda participated along with representatives of different schools and members of the Panchkula Consumer Forum.
Starting from June 11, the residents of Panchkula will be imparted education about traffic rules at four different points in the city from 5 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. During the drive, emphasis would be laid on the need to have clear number plates on vehicles, laws against triple-riding and minors driving vehicles along with the need for scooterists to wear helmets.
