MUMBAI, June 1: Hari Desai, editor of Samakaleen daily of the Indian Express Group, Mumbai was selected for the Gujarat government award for the best editorial writings for the year 1995-96. The award carries a cash reward of Rs 25,000 and the memento of appreciation.

The late editor of Janmabhoomi daily, Harindra Dave was the first recipient of the award for the year 1993-94 followed by Aziz Tankarvi, editor of Gujarat Today. Kirti Kharti, editor of Kutch Mitra got the award for 1996-97.
