NEW DELHI, AUG 17: The 5609 Delhi-Guwahati Avadh Assam Express will remain cancelled till further advice due to the law and order situation in Assam, a Northern Railway release said here today.
The Northern Railway has also announced modifications in the procedure for issuing tickets against military warrants and form D/Cash vouchers. They should be addressed to Indian Railways instead of the station superintendent.
Such tickets will be allowed to be exchanged from any terminal or location of the Passenger Reservation System PRS irrespective of the station from which the journey is to be undertaken.
All PRS locations shall issue tickets in exchange for military warrants and form D/Cash vouchers irrespective of whether the station lies within any Zonal Railway and whether the total journey being longer than the portion for which the reservation is asked for or whether the reservation is asked for from an intermediate station.

Railways offers 3 discount on RailOne App unreserved tickets via all digital payments

In a move aimed at expanding digital adoption, the Railway Ministry will offer a 3 per cent discount on the purchase of unreserved tickets through the RailOne app when payments are made using any digital mode. The incentive will be available for a six-month period from January 14 to July 14, 2026.
