Armed men ransack SDO8217;s house

PANCHKULA, Oct 5: Armed men reportedly attacked the house of a Mandi Board official in Sector 12-A of the township and took away an official file and some cash, while injuring a woman in broad daylight today.

Four persons had approached the house of Rohit Agnihotri, a Sub Divisional Officer with the Board at about 11.30 in the morning and had told his aged mother Sita Rani that they were Agnihotri8217;s friends and had brought a gift for him. Sita Rani invited them in and asked her daughter Satya Rani to prepare tea for them.

However, when Satya Rani was making her way to the kitchen, one of the persons assaulted her and she received injuries on her head. The women were then threatened with dire consequences if they made any noise and locked in a room while the house was ransacked by the four miscreants. Two of them were reportedly armed with pistols while the other carried knives.
