
SINGAPORE, Aug 23: Indian pro Arjun Singh completed his remarkable recovery with a searing four-under 68 in the final round to finish joint 13 while Gaurav Ghei slid further to end up joint 70th and bottom of the heap in the Ericsson Singapore Open Golf at the Safra Resort and Country Club.
Shaun Micheel of United States capped a superb series of scores to win by two strokes from fellow overnight leader Hendrik Buhrmann of South Africa and Brad King of Australia, a further two strokes adrift, was third today.
Micheel, who moved to the top of the Omega Order of Merit, carded a splendid three-under 69 on the final day for a 16-under aggregate of 272 to reap the first prize of US 80,750 with Buhrmann, who tallied 274, winning 55,650.Brad King scorched the course with a five under 67 while Nico van Rensburg RSA and former winner Lu Chien-Soon Taiwan were joint fourth aggregating 277.
Wills Masters winner Arjun Singh, who pulled up to 22nd overnight from a poor 49th after the second round once againplayed a steady round to tally 280 71726968 to end 13th with six others and collect US7,070. But Ghei could get nothing right and returned a listless two-over 291.
