A full-grown female one-horned rhino of highly endangered species, was killed near Kaziranga National Park and its horn taken away. Forest officials said the rhino which had strayed out of the park alongwith two male rhinos last week, was shot dead by poachers at Kameri Chapori under Numaligarh forest beat office on the outskirts of the Park three days ago. The decomposed carcass of the animal was dug out on Sunday by the police after the villagers complained of foul smell.
