CHANDIGARH, Jan 25: Anil Kapoor’s unbeaten knock of 48 runs enabled Tari Cricket Club beat Industrial Cricket Club by six wickets to lift the title in the 10th Bathany Cup cash prize cricket tournament held yesterday, at CRPF ground.
ICC began on a sound note but their middle order batsmen failed to maintain the tempo and the team could get 118 runs in the allotted 25 overs. Jagjeet Saini (20), Ravi Pal (16) and Ramandeep (15) were the main scorers for ICC.
Madal Lal took three wickets
In reply Tari CC got the winning total in the 20th over, losing four wickets. Anil Kapoor unbeaten knock of 48 runs off 47 balls, which included eight boundaries contributed to the team’s victory.

Jasbir qualifies
Jasbir Singh of Punjab has qualified the national referee’s test conducted by the Rowing Federation of India (RFI). According to Punjab Amateur Rowing Association, Jasbir’s name was cleared by the RFI, in the general body meeting held recently at Pune.
Title for Customs
Customs and Central Excise, Chandigarh, won hockey title in the All India Central Revenue sports meet, which recently concluded at Chennai. Chandigarh beat Bombay Customs 5-4 via tie breaker to take home the trophy. The teams played 1-1 draw during the regulation period.
Chandigarh table tennis and badminton teams also won medals in veteran group. Subhash Batra won the table tennis singles event. He also paired with Virat to pocket the doubles title. Anil Bhatti got a silver medal in badminton.
