PUNE, July 24: A panacea of excitement, a zest to live life to the hilt meaningfully, in a disciplined manner and helping students to soar to the zenith of academic excellence is what the study camp in Hutchings High School and Junior College is all about. Hutchings High School and Junior College is the only school in Pune where all hundred and three students of Class X in two batches, stretching over two weeks, live in with the Principal and a few teachers to learn to regulate the routine of their last year in school with a judicious mingling of study and play.
With selfless devotion and perseverance the dynamic Principal, the academic and service staff worked round the clock to teach and personally supervise students in their closely monitored study hours in class, in their gay abandon on the play field and happy co-mingling in the true spirit of fraternity during their leisure time. The students imbibed the basic principle of hygienic living, table manners, the give and take in their rat race of life and above all the value of prayers during their study camp.
The Principal lived in with the student sand prepared their breakfast everyday personally. The day started at 4.40 am and ended at 10.00 pm. A total of eight hours of disciplined, supervised study was put in, apart from attending the school regularly. Apart from forging values to become a better, wiser and happier human being the barriers between the teacher and the taught dwindled in the new found happiness of the students when they realised that they had found a friend, philosopher and guide in their principal and teachers.
The study camp organised so painstakingly by the Principal is a dream come true for the students. With bated breath and pulsating emotions, students look forward to this enlightening experience where life long relationships are forged.
