
CHANDIGARH, May 14: The appointments of Ambika Soni as president of the All India Mahila Congress and Manish Tewari as president of the Indian Youth Congress have been welcomed by various local organisations and Congressmen.
The Chandigarh Territorial Congress president, Pawan Kumar Bansal hoped Ambika Soni would infuse a new life in the organisation. He also hoped that under her guidance the Congress women would have a greater participation and say in the decision making of the Congress party.
Rampal Sharma, Chander Mukhi Sharma, Bhupinder Singh Badheri and Gurcharan Dass Kala hoped that the Youth Congress would flourish under Munish Tewari. Other Congressman Gurbachan Singh, Manjit Kaur, J.N. Shastri and Shri Pal Verma have also welcomed the decision of appointing Manish as IYC president.
The Chandigarh Youth Congress office-bearers Vijaypal Singh Dimpy, Vikram Sharma quot;Dickyquot; and Amarjit Singh Gujral have said that by appointing Tewari the Congress high-command has reposed faith in the local Congress.
