
AMBALA, May 3: The district administration has made elaborate arrangements to control dengu and malaria.Deputy Commissioner Dheera Khandelwal disclosed that these included an extensive survey of the suspected cases, taking blood samples for examination, and distribution of medicines to each family at their doorstep. She said that only eight cases were found positive out of a total of 22,000 persons covered under the blood test drive. The affected persons, she added, were given medicines.Khandelwal added that the health department had undertaken to spray melathene and fogging to check the breeding of mosquitoes, besides distribution of cholorquin tablets in the rural areas.
The district malaria officer, Satbir Chaudhary has advised people not to allow water accumulation in and around their houses which could become the breeding ground for mosquitoes.
