All the five accused in the Madhumita murder case including UP Samajwadi Party MLA Amarmani Tripathi and wife Madhumani have been remanded in judicial custody till March 11.
The others are Rohit Chaturvedi, Parkash Pandey and Santosh. All of them were produced in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Meena Tiwari here today.
The case was transferred from UP to Uttarakhand by the Supreme Court on a petition by Madhumita’s mother and sister. They had alleged that Amarmani was using his political clout to influence the case in UP. The SC also gave directions for day-to-day hearing of the case in Dehradun.
While Madhumani was brought to Dehradun on March 3, her husband joined her yesterday from Gorakhpur jail. The three other co-accused were also brought from Gorakhpur jail.
