The Canadian aluminum producer Alcan has rejected a 27.4 billion bid from rival, Alcoa, calling the offer inadequate. Alcan said that it was in talks with other companies and added that it was considering a counterbid for Alcoa.
Alcan said that its directors had concluded that the bid by Alcoa did not reflect the company8217;s full value.
