PUNE, Feb 28: Hosts Army Institute of Technology AIT claimed two titles and finished runners-up in one as the three-day PACE 8217;99 inter-engineering sports meet came to an end today.
The first title for the hosts came in tennis, where the AIT boys subdued the COEP challenge 2-1. COEP took the 1-0 lead with Amit Bhargava defeating Vivek Loches of AIT 6-2, 6-0. However, they bounced back to level as Anurup Talwar from being down by a set made an impressive comeback, beating Shrikant Rao 3-6, 6-3, 6-0. Pramod Prabhakar won the third rubber 6-4, 6-4 against Sameer to make it AIT8217;s day.
The AIT hoopsters claimed the second title defeating AFMC 67-64 in the boys basketball final. Hariharan, Hitesh Gossain and Rohit Nair played well for the winners.
The girls title went to Fergusson college, who defeated MIT 45-22. In the badminton final, MIT defeated AIT 3-0 to push the hosts to the runners-up position.

Telco victorious
HOSTS Telco, Pune, defeated Titan Industries 54-37 in their league encounter of the All India Kabaddi tournament at their home grounds.
