While announcing a series of protests against the economic policy of the Government, the All India Forward Bloc (AIFB), a UPA ally, today asserted that Left parties would not allow the Congress-led coalition to send the message that it was consulting the Left parties before taking decisions.

The party also trained its gun on the Congress leadership, especially on Jawaharlal Nehru, saying the party never wanted the truth regarding Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose to come out ‘‘for political reasons’’.

‘‘The Left parties in general and Forward Bloc in particular did not expect much from the Congress-led dispensation as we are aware of its class character. Even though the government has been taking steps which go against the people’s interests, we will continue to mount pressure for implementation of pro-people policies,’’ party general secretary Debabrata Biswas told reporters after a two-day meeting of the Forward Bloc Central Committee here.

‘‘We will not allow the Congress to send the message that whatever they are doing, they are doing in consultation with the Left parties,’’ he said. He also castigated the government for ‘‘miserably failing’’ to check price rise and on several other fronts.
