
PUNE, Feb 25: Dastur Hoshang Boys were held by St. Patrick8217;s to a 1-1 draw in the under-13 section while Alegaonkar High School AHS annexed three points defeating All Saints 2-0 in the under-15 section of the Super Three invitational inter school hockey meet at St. Vincent8217;s ground, today.
The first goal of the Dastur-St. Patricks match came only in the second half. Five minutes into the second session, Dastur went into the lead with Rutu Gavli making the most of him being unmarked. But Anand Verma restored parity for St. Patrick8217;s taking advantage of a defensive lapse, five minutes later. In another encounter Amit Rajput and Jagdish Kasture spring life into a slow match in the last minutes, as AHS went back with a molar boosting victory.
The first half turned out to be a goalless. And from the way things got going in the latter half it seemed that a drawn outcome was for sure. However the last ten minutes proved to be decisive. A goal mouth melee in the 42nd minute at the All Saints end resulted in a goal scored by Amit Rajput. Entering the circle skipper Vikrant Kadam executed a direct pass to Amit who slammed home.
Six minutes later the Alegaonkar HS lads made the issue safe, with Jagdish Kasture doing the job. Paras Samudray did the spade work aiding Jagdish in his attempt.
