A package for agriculture, including measures to double credit to the farm sector in three years, is expected in the budget on July 8. Finance Ministry officials on Thursday met with RBI Governor Y.V. Reddy, NABARD chairperson Ranjana Kumar, Indian Banks Association chief V. Leeladhar to work out the modalities. Priority sector credit, mainly to the farm sector, was up by 25 pc at about Rs2,10,000 crore last fiscal, as per RBI data.
