CHANDIGARH, Feb 4: The ten-member Chandigarh shooting team got eight medals including three gold, four silver and one bronze in the national shooting championship held at Bangalore.

Aarti, a plus one student of Carmel Convent School-9, gave excellent performance to shoot two golds and three silvers in the meet.

With a score of 328/400, she won first position in open sight air rifle (NR) event in the junior women’s category. However, same score also fetched her first place in the senior division.

In the air pistol event, she scored 350/400, which gave her silver medal in senior and junior sections. Her third silver came in .22 standard air rifle 3 position. She scored 464/600.

Pavittar Singh of Sri Guru Gobind Singh College-26, struck the third gold for the team in the junior men section with a total of 533/600, in the .22 air rifle open sight prone (NR). In the senior, he got silver with the same score.

Tamana got bronze in the air rifle event in the junior women category.
