SALEM, JANUARY 13: In a major decision taken by the Amateur Athletic Federation of India AAFI, to infuse some discipline and reponsibility, any state team not sending its squad to the Vinayaka Mission8217;s XV Junior Inter-state athletic championships, here from January 19-23, will be debarred from the AAFI. Even senior teams are likely to pay the penalty on account of their state8217;s default.
For the first time in the history of junior meets in the country, the tacheometer to measure distances in throwing events will be used, besides photo finish cameras, electronic display boards and wind gauage instruments.
