
KHARAR, June 21: The Indian Tourism Development Corporation Limited ITDC and the Punjab Tourism Development Corporation Limited PTDC have teamed up to set up a three star hotel at Anandpur Sahib costing around Rs 6.4 crore.
This incidentally would be ITDC8217;s first joint venture with the PTDC in Punjab.This was disclosed by Jagir Kaur, Punjab Minister for Tourism and Cultural Affairs and Vini Mahajan, managing Director of the PTDC, while talking to ENS on Wednesday.They disclosed that Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal had held discussions with Union Minister for Tourism Madan Lal Khurana which led to the approval of the project.
The chairman and managing director of the ITDC had also met Punjab Chief Minister in this regard where all formalities were worked out.Jagir Kaur and Vini Mahajan said the site for this project had already been acquired and work on the project would begin soon. The project would take about 18 months to complete. The state government has already made provisions for the necessary funds for this project in its annual plan.
