Busy preparing for the final one-day face-off with the West Indies at the Queen8217;s Park Oval, a mobile call from Jamaica meant that a crucial dose of experience was on its way for Team India 8212; at least for the Tests.

Anil Kumble and VVS Laxman touched base with the team yesterday, hours after landing at the Norman Manley stadium in Kingston. They reached Antigua, along with Wasim Jaffer, Dinesh Kaarthick and VRV Singh, well in time for the two-day match against a local XI at the police ground starting May 30 and five days to go for the big one at the famous recreation ground 8212; the first Test.

8220;It8217;s going to be a different kind of cricket. Five of us have joined, so a bit of experience and a bit of youth. So it8217;s going to be a tough series,8221; Kumble told local reporters in Kingston. 8220;I am really looking forward to it. The last couple of years we played here, we went pretty close but lost out narrowly. We have come here to win the series and should be able to do that,8221; said Kumble.

Laxman, on the other hand, would be hoping to revive his form of 2002 when he hit a hundred and three fifties in a series that saw India go down 1-2 after winning the first Test. 8220;Their arrival is a huge boost for the side. With their tremendous records, Kumble and Laxman bring in that valuable edge,8221; said Ranjib Biswal, selector on tour with the team for the one-day series. 8220;It will be a new challenge for the West Indies now.8221;
