
Punjab8217;s bustling medium pacer Gagandeep Singh has settled snugly into his role as Mr Punjab since making his debut for the state in 2000 against Hyderabad. With the ICL drawing out youngsters, Punjab can thank the rise of this young Ludhiana bowler, now considered an important cog in Punjab8217;s pace department.
On Friday Gagandeep was selected for the India Green side which will see him bowling alongside the likes of Munaf Patel and Yusuf Pathan.
Last year Gagandeep picked 17 wickets in four games in the Ranji Super league with a six-wicket haul against Bengal being his best. He is back after a four-month stint with Staffordshire County Club in England where he picked up 69 wickets in 15 matches. 8220;This year is very important for me and I am seeing this opportunity to make it to the Indian team once again,8221; said Gagandeep who has 230 wickets from 55 first class matches.
