A bus stop with a difference

The AMTS Pattharkuva Bus Stop on Relief Road is a bus stop with a difference. Apart from being a bus stop, it is a prime spot for roadside vendors, who put fancy belts and wallets on display everyday. In fact, these vendors have completely taken over the place, leaving no space for commuters waiting for buses.

Nazir Ahmed Sheikh, a vendor, said that he has been selling the items for the last 15 years, when there was no bus stand at the spot. 8220;AMTS made this new bus stand in the year 1998-99, thus blocking the view of my wares.8221;

However, Sheikh is all praise for AMTS and the traffic police, who have never sought to remove them from the spot all these years and neither have the commuters complained.

The buses which ply from the stand are 38 Vasna- Juhapura, 48 Himmatlal park- Prahladnagar garden, 56 Judge8217;s Bungalows- Iscon Mandir, 1122133 Laldarwaja, 561 Gujarat University and 2 Circular route- Laldarwaja.
