55-year-old woman stoned to death

Dhondiba alleged in his complaint that his six relatives, including three women, bashed Hirabai8217;s head while she was sleeping under a tree and threw her body in a nearby sugarcane farm in a bid to destroy the evidence.

The complaint named the alleged killers as Chhaya Lala Khandekar, her husband Lala, Tukaram Laxman Khandekar, his wife Babai, Dharma Rajaram Khandekar and his wife Sunita. They threw Hirabai8217;s body in a sugarcane farm belonging to Vijay Gholap, the complaint stated.

Acting on the basis of the complaint, the Walchandnagar police have arrested all the six alleged killers. They have been slapped with the charges of murdering Hirabai, destroying evidence of the crime and common intention.
