KURUKSHETRA, June 9: THE police have arrested three persons, Bhopinder Singh, Rajwinder Singh and Rajesh, for allegedly duping the commuters by administering them intoxicants. The police have recovered a gold chain and Maruti car from their possession.

Disclosing this, SP Yashpal Singal said the police nabbed the accused, on a complaint, filed by a doctor from Himachal Pradesh, who had been looted by them near Shahabad, recently.

All the three accused have been lodged in district jail, on a 14-day judicial remand, Singal said.

POWER SUPPLY: During a meeting of the District Grievances Committee, here today, Deputy Commissioner T. V. S. N. Prasad warned the electricity and public health officials to restore the uninterrupted power and water supplies to the residents of the city. He directed them to remove all the illegal water and electricity connections in and around the area.

The residents of the city appealed to the Deputy Commissioner to check the illegal plying of the auto-rickshaws.

The DC has promulgated prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Cr PC in Shahabad, keeping in view the forthcoming Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee elections on June 10 for keeping safety and public tranquility.
