NEW DELHI, July 2: Three persons were crushed to death under a water tanker this morning when the driver lost control over the vehicle and drove over the pavement of Asaf Ali Road in central Delhi. The accident occurred around 1 a.m. when the three victims were sleeping on the pavement.The tanker hit an electric pole on the UP taxi stand roundabout in the Ajmeri Gate area, following which the driver lost control and went over the three persons sleeping on the pavement. The driver abandoned the tanker on the spot and fled. Efforts are on to trace him and the owner of the vehicle bearing number DL-1G-4244. The three victims, who have been identified as Pusi, Satbir and Dora Lal, reportedly died on the spot. They were taken to a hospital, where they were declared dead.
