Foiling a major terror plot before Independence Day, the Delhi Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested two Lashkar-e-Toiba operatives from the New Delhi railway station with RDX and detonators.

Following a tip-off that two militants would arrive in a train from Jammu, the anti-terrorist unit nabbed Abrar Ahmed and Abu Anas at around 10.30 pm. Two kilograms of RDX and five detonators were seized from the duo, who claimed to be coming from Srinagar. While Ahmed belongs to Bahraich in UP, Anas is a Pakistani national, it is learnt. The two have reportedly confessed that they planned to carry out strikes before the Independence Day.
