2 cops suspended for manhandling lawyer in Okhla

NEW DELHI, June 25: Two Delhi Police constables of the Srinivaspuri police station were suspended following an altercation with an advocate tonight. An inquiry has been ordered. Constables Ajit Pal and Satbir got into a scuffle with advocate Shams Khwaja at Batla House near Okhla around 8.30 p.m. 8220;I was in my car when I noticed one of the constables harassing a rickshawpuller,8221; says Khwaja. 8220;I tried to stop him. In the scuffle that followed, the other constable joined in.8221;

8220;There is an encroachment drive on in the area and the constables were on special duty,8221; says SHO Dharambir Joshi. 8220;They should have shown restraint.8221; Khwaja has been asked to file an official complaint at the station.
