This simple homemade mask consists of super ingredients such as chia seeds, milk, and fresh aloe vera blended to create a nourishing paste. According to Javed and many who have tried the remedy, applying this mask all over the face helps achieve an instant glow and rejuvenation of the skin.
All three ingredients are known to be good for the skin, but it’s essential to understand how they interact with the skin and any possible risks involved.
Dr Meghna Mour, dermatologist and founder of Skuccii Supercliniq says, “The chia seed mask, as showcased by Uorfi Javed, is a powerhouse of skin-loving benefits.”
Chia seeds, she elaborates, are bursting with antioxidants, omega-3 fatty acids, and minerals that work together to hydrate the skin and combat free radicals. Milk brings soothing and nourishing properties with its lactic acid content, while aloe vera calms inflammation and promotes healing, leaving your skin looking refreshed and radiant.

Dr Mour confirms, “This mask is a game-changer for a variety of skin types and concerns.” Its hydrating qualities make it perfect for dry and dehydrated skin, while its anti-inflammatory properties make it effective for soothing sensitive and irritated skin. Additionally, she says, its gentle exfoliation can help improve the appearance of dull and congested skin.
While generally safe, Dr Mours stresses that it is important to consider potential sensitivities or allergies.
“Individuals with sensitive skin or allergies to any of the ingredients should conduct a patch test before applying the mask to their face,” she says.
Furthermore, excessive use or leaving the mask on for too long may result in irritation or dryness, so it is crucial to adhere to the recommended usage guidelines.
To fully benefit from this mask without compromising your skin’s health, she suggests, consistency is key. Aim to use the chia seed mask 2-3 times per week for optimal results. This frequency strikes a balance between enjoying the nourishing ingredients and allowing your skin to naturally rejuvenate. “Remember, moderation is essential for maintaining your skin’s natural balance and barrier function,” she cautions.
