From the spunky firebrand Milli Sethi of 12/24 Karol Bagh, Hale turns into the typical wife in Dahleez, in the hope of rekindling love with her husband. In Chandigarh to throw light on the show along with her on-screen husband Meer Ali, Hale says that the story is about two couples, one in love and the other unhappily married. Set against a bureaucratic Delhi, while Ali essays the role of Jaydev Sinha, an IAS officer who is a perfect and obedient son, Hale plays his wife Jaya Sinha, the perfect upper class daughter-in-law of the family.
Produced by Farhan Saalaruddin, the show also stars Tridha Chaudhary and Harshad Arora as the protagonists in love. Hale and Ali maintain it’s very different from the usual saas-bahu serials. “The husband and the wife are limiting themselves to take a step forward in their relationship. The story is about different situations which the wife has to deal with during the course of her marriage to bring the couple on the same tangent,” Hale says.
Playing the role of a perfect daughter-in-law was exactly what Hale was looking for, as she had wanted to break the stereotype of playing negative characters. For Ali, it was a challenging experience.
“I am a talkative person whereas Jaydev is a reserved, stubborn personality which was very difficult for me to pull off. I made it a point that before the shoot I did not talk to anyone so that I could keep my concentration,” says Ali.
